THE RISE OF DOLCEVITA
JAZZ IN ITALY IN THE 50s
To the rise of
Dolce Vita in Rome has contributed with no
doubts the jazz music, particularly two
groups very active in Rome on those years:
the first New Orleans Jazz Band that has
celebrated its sixtieth anniversary in 2009
and The Sistina Street Swungers, a Trio with
Carlo Loffredo, Gilberto Cuppini and Ettore
Crisostomi.
To complete thie compilation, are two
important documents: part of an inedited
concert of Benny Goodman in Rome in 1950 and
six standards by that extraordinary
peronality called Bricktop. It is the first
time that we can listen to her voic. These
songs are the only recording of Bricktop
throughout the course of her long life.
